Habersham Community Theater is excited to bring the first operatic production to the Kollock stage with the tales of nativity and epiphany, Amahl and the Night Visitors. HCT's Christmas production is highlighted by the beautiful blend of vocals from the three kings, performed by Pat Chastain, Jeremy Bishop, and Ryan Long.
Pat Chastain stated, "Opera is sometimes thought of as inaccessible or snobbish, but nothing could be further from the truth with Amahl. This production combines wonderful music with an uplifting story. The show presents the human story of a mother's love for her child and the devotion of the scholar to his study. But most touching to me is the revelation of God's love shown in sacrifice. I believe our audiences will be moved and enlightened."
Joining Pat Chastain as the trio of kings are two HCT favorites, Jeremy Bishop and Ryan Long. Ryan Long and Jeremy Bishop are known not only for their amazing vocals but equally as gifted actors, having played many lead roles on the Kollock stage.
Pat Chastain commented, "It is a pleasure to be singing with such powerful voices as Ryan's and Jeremy's. The harmonies written in this score for us are so rich and full. I feel blessed to be included."
Performances are December 5-7, 12-14 at 7:30 pm, and December 8 and 15 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $12 for children and students. To purchase, please call (706) 839-1315 or order online at www.habershamcommunitytheater.com.
