At Habersham Community Theater, our 2019-2020 season kicked off beautifully with the joyous retelling of the story of the Von Trapp family in The Sound of Music. This was followed by the masterfully-produced and beloved Christmas show, Amahl and the Night Visitors. Then we kicked off the new year with the unforgettable story of the plight of the Danish Jews during World War II in Number the Stars. We had no idea that would be the last show of the season, and then of the year.
While 2020 started out like most others, it wasn't long before it turned into a bit of a roller coaster ride of uncertainty. Due to the strict guidelines in the Governor's Executive Order regarding live performances, along with the size of our theater, we would only be able to open the theater to tiny audiences. For your safety, the Board of Directors made the decision to cancel the remainder of the 2019-2020 season, and the first half of the 2020-2021 season. It is our hope and prayer that we will be able to open our doors and tread the boards again soon. Until then, we are continuing the work of the theater: cleaning, organizing, and planning future shows. We'll be back, ready to delight audiences once again!
