ABOUT
Habersham Community Theater (HCT) provides live theatre for the residents and visitors in Northeast Georgia. Our mission is to provide live entertainment, to offer opportunities for personal growth through use of creative talents in drama, music, art, and dance; to contribute to the cultural enrichment of the community; and to share emotions that enrich our perceptions of life and our understanding of others.
Drama, comedy, musicals, dinner theater, readers’ theater, children’s productions, art exhibits, and special events are part of the mix of activities taking place. Currently, HCT sponsors a variety of concerts as well as presentations of one-act plays by the drama departments of the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy and Habersham Central High School.
HCT makes its home in the Historic Habersham Theater, which was built as a movie theater in 1937. The theater is located at 1370 Washington Street, just off the square, in Clarkesville, Georgia.
Opportunities abound to be involved as an audience member, a performer on the stage, or a worker behind the scenes. Actors, directors, set and costume designers, technical crew, board members, friends, and associates are all volunteers who wish to be involved in performing arts and contribute to the cultural enrichment of the community.
